چکیده
Methods Patients (n = 84, age: 57.7 ± 14.7 yrs, [mean ± SD], LVEF: 25.7 ± 11.1%) with newly diagnosed NIDCM underwent late gadolinium enhancement CMR (inversion-recovery technique 10 min after the administration of gadolinium-DTPA (0.1 mmol/kg). Peak systolic circumferential (Εcc) and radial (Εrr) strain were assessed using FT-CMR of the mid-cavity LV short-axis cine and peak systolic longitudinal strain (Εll) was assessed from the horizontal long axis cine.

Prognostic significance of the extent of septal fibrosis quantified on late gadolium enhanced images in patients with nonischemic cardiomyopathy
Background Midwall septal fibrosis on late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging has been shown to be an independent predictor of adverse events in patients with non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy (NICM). Recent studies in other cardiomyopathy cohorts, such as Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, suggest that LGE extent provides incremental prognostic value over ...
متن کاملThe value of myocardial perfusion imaging in differentiating between idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy from the ischemic form [Persian]
Introduction: Differentiating between ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM) and idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy (IDCM) is important as coronary revascularization can improve prognosis in the ischemic subgroup. Due to inherent problems of coronary angiography in patients with depressed ejection fraction (EF) introducing a noninvasive tool to diagnose those who will benefit from angiography seems...
متن کاملPrognostic significance of midwall fibrosis in dilated cardiomyopathy
Methods Consecutive patients with DCM referred for CMR between 2002-2008 were prospectively enrolled. The diagnosis of DCM was made using clinical, CMR and coronary angiographic findings. Patients with ischemic heart disease, primary valvar disease and infiltrative CM were excluded. LGE-CMR at 1.5T (Siemens Sonata or Avanto, Germany) was performed in 2 phase-encoding directions. The presence of...

OBJECTIVES We studied the prognostic implications of midwall fibrosis in dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) in a prospective longitudinal study. BACKGROUND Risk stratification of patients with nonischemic DCM in the era of device implantation is problematic. Approximately 30% of patients with DCM have midwall fibrosis as detected by late gadolinium-enhancement (LGE) cardiovascular magnetic resonanc...
متن کاملParameters of Right Ventricle as etiological distinction between ischemic and non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy
Background Dilated left ventricular volumes (VE) is one of the main factors of poor cardiovascular prognosis with systolic dysfunction. Myocardial fibrosis detected by late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) on cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) has been recognized in recent years as an independent prognostic factor in dilated cardiomyopathy, in addition to guiding the etiological diagnosis, and most o...
